Foeniculum vulgare (Lat.) - Fennel Sweet

It is prominent for its distinct, aromatic taste. Flower bolting is prevented by pre-cultivation at a temperature higher than 20 °C. Planted in fields after May 15.

A very early variety of the Bolognese type; it requires 70 days from sowing till harvest. The optimal sowing period is from late-June till mid-August. Planted in a planting distance of 30 × 10-15 cm. It gives flattened, round, glossy white "bulbs", resistant to bolting. Cropped from August till October.
